Stilbite

Stilbite is a type of zeolite mineral. It is used in a variety of applications, including in water purification, as an adsorbent, and as a catalyst. It is also used in the production of detergents, and the oil and gas industries.

Stilbite is a variety of zeolite minerals, with calcium, magnesium, and iron in the tetrahedral and octahedral sites of the structure, and aluminum and silicon in the interstitial sites.  It is an important member of the stilbite group of minerals and is part of the apophyllite group. It is named after the Greek word "stilbein," which means "to glitter." This is because stilbite exhibits a unique sparkling or glistening effect when it is moved in the light.
